Toronto has a lot of amazing options but if you’re looking for places with the lowest risk of cross-contamination, then dedicated gluten free restaurants are the way to go.
1. Riz on Yonge
Located in the North Toronto area – Riz on Yonge offers Celiac Safe Asian Cuisine. Riz on Yonge is one of the very few places that has obtained the Gluten Free Food Service Certification (GFFS) from the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America (GIG). Their menu ranges from soups, salads, sushi, and fried rice to pizzas, curry, and much more.
2. Impact Kitchen
With multiple locations in downtown Toronto, Impact Kitchen focuses on working closely with farmers and suppliers to ensure that their ingredients are fresh, local, and organic. Their menu features breakfast, brunch, power bowls, baked goods, and a lot more. You can order food through Uber Eats, Ritual, and Foodee and they also have catering options.
3. Hype Food Co
Located east of the Don Valley river on Gerrard, Hype Food co offers a build your meal system consisting of a base, vegetables, protein, and ending with the sauce or dressing. They have a number of baked goods in the store (as well as online) and soft serve ice-cream int he summer and spring. They also offer custom cakes, cookies and cupcakes by special order for all occasions.
4. Hibiscus Cafe
Located in the Kensington market, Hibiscus Cafe is a family run vegetarian cafe where everything is organic and gluten free. Their menu features Soups and Salads, Savoury Crepes, Sweet Crepes, and Desserts. They also sell gifts cards!
5. the Goods
Located in Roncasvelles, the Goods is focused on organic food with functional and healing ingredients. Their menu features smoothies, salad bowls, soups, bars, and more. You can order the Goods using Uber Eats for delivery. They also have an online store where they sell soups, smoothies, kombucha, cookies, and different drinks. They also do catering.
6. Kupfert and Kim
Kupfert and Kim has multiple locations around the Financial District that’s focused on bringing fresh food every morning as well as preparing almost everything in house from scratch. Their menu ranges from brunch, smoothies, and salad bowls to breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. You can order Kupfert and Kim through Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes and Foodora for delivery and they also have catering options.
7. Live Organic Food Bar
Live Organic Foods Bar is located right next to Dupont station near Spadina and Dupont. They have a range of salads, burgers, wraps, bowls, drinks and desserts. You can order through Uber Eats for delivery and they also have an online store where they sell wraps, snacks, crackers, gift cards, and ebooks.
8. Basil Box
Basil Box has 10 locations in Toronto which is the most we’ve seen for a chain that is focused on gluten free. They have a build you box option with a ton of options as well as some signature boxes, Basil Bites, and drinks. Basil Box actually has an app for ordering and picking up in store which is really cool. You also have the option to order with Foodora, Uber Eats, and Skip The Dishes for delivery and they also have catering options.
If you love Mexican food, then Elpocho is a god sent. Located north of Bathurst station, Elphocho is focused on bringing you authentic Mexican food. Tacos, tortillas, tostadas, and much more. They also have churros!
Before we let you go, we want to remind you that while all of these restaurants do not have any glutenous materials in the kitchen, there is still a chance that things like nuts and other food might come into contact with gluten in factories where they are processed.
